The flags have officially been raised at the Bainbridge Logistics Center .
The redevelopment of the site, which was the former Bainbridge Naval Training Center, expands across more than 400 acres of land in Cecil County. The logistics center will provide nearly 4 million square-feet of space for Maryland’s bustling distribution and logistics sector along the I-95 corridor.
Local commercial real estate company MRP Industrial is partnering with Hillwood Development Company on the redevelopment of the Bainbridge site. According to MRP, the logistic center could support more than 2,000 new jobs in the region once completed.
Construction is expected to begin on the first two warehouse buildings in late spring, featuring energy-saving features and deep truck courts in upwards of 1.6 million square feet.
Bainbridge follows a series of successful economic development announcements in Cecil County over the past year, including Great Wolf Lodge ; Highline Warren ; and Alo Yoga and BELLA+CANVAS .
