Seven local businesses are traveling with the Maryland Department of Commerce to London for Infosecurity Europe 2022 , the largest European gathering for the information security network.

The state of Maryland will be hosting a 32 square-meter space (approximately 345 square-feet) at booth D65, with room for each of the companies to exhibit its products and services at the international trade show. This will be the fourth time Maryland has attended the InfoSec conference, which attracts nearly 20,000 industry professionals from around the world.

The companies traveling as part of the Maryland delegation include:

  • Adinkra Solutions Group , a women-owned Baltimore business focused on information assurance and security;
  • Ardent Privacy , a Catonsville company helping enterprises implement security and privacy programs;
  • Galaxkey , an international security platform and encryption company with an office at bwtech@UMBC;
  • Penacity , a veteran-owned small business cybersecurity operation based in Hanover;
  • Sepio Systems , a Rockville leader in rogue device mitigation;
  • Sicura , a Baltimore software developer that provides an automated security and compliance platform;
  • System 1, Inc. , a strategic IT and cybersecurity innovation company in North Bethesda.

Several of the participating companies attending InfoSec are utilizing grants from the ExportMD program , which assists small and mid-size companies with traveling and marketing costs associated with international trade shows.

While overseas, Maryland Commerce will host a joint event with the Midlands Engine and each of their delegations, providing an opportunity for one-on-one meetings to strengthen business relationships between the regions. Maryland and the U.K.’s Midlands signed a Memorandum of Understanding  back in 2017 to support economic development and cybersecurity growth between the regions; the MOU expanded two years later to include collaboration in the life sciences industry .

After the trade show, the Maryland Commerce team will also visit the Hauts-de-France region in France, who it signed a Sister State memorandum of understanding  with in 2020. This MOU expands on the state’s original agreement signed with the Region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais in France in 1981. The Maryland Sister States Program  helps maintain diplomatic relations with Maryland’s many Sister State partnerships and supports business, cultural, and educational exchanges between the regions.
