Nine small, minority, and veteran-owned businesses have received funding from the Maryland Department of Commerce.

The financial assistance, administered through the department’s Military Personnel and Veteran-owned Small Business Loan Program and Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority, totals $2.2 million to support business growth.

“With help from these two programs, we are uplifting entrepreneurs of all backgrounds — and building new pathways to work, wages, and wealth,“ said Governor Wes Moore.

The mixture of loans, loan guaranties, and equity investments will help the entities create 36 new jobs and retain 131 workers in Maryland.
