Looking for a family-fun outing during your trip to Ocean City this summer? Be sure to check out the Delmarva Discovery Center . With 16,000 square feet of exhibits covering both natural and cultural histories of Delmarva, the discovery center is sure to be a fun and educational experience for children and adults.

The discovery center offers a little something for everyone. Interested in connecting with the region’s historical roots? Visitors can explore the Pocomoke Indian Nation’s exhibit, which includes traditional canoes used by natives to navigate Maryland’s river canals. The program’s art-deco building is a part of the town’s history as well—located on the picturesque banks of Pocomoke River, it originally was a car dealership that opened in 1922.

If you are an animal lover, visit on Thursdays and Fridays for a chance to learn all about Maryland’s native wildlife, with a special feeding time for Mac & Tuck, the center’s adorable, residential river otters. On Sundays, the center also offers a wider Live Animal Program, while on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, visitors can enjoy a private field trip covering all exhibits.

Are the kids looking for a little more fun? They can participate in an eventful summer camp  as well as various activities  the program has to offer, like shark week, pin creation, and a jewelry master class. Kids ages 7-17 will learn more about Maryland’s rich wildlife in a safe and exciting environment, while tapping into their creativity.

The Delmarva Discovery Center is open to summer visitors Tuesday through Sunday, with plenty of special events mixed in between. Plan a visit today!
