Seven companies will be joining the Maryland Department of Commerce at Avalon 2023 , the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defense Expo.

Held February 25 - March 5 in Geelong, Victoria, Avalon attracts global industry leaders from across the aerospace and aviation and defense industries, as well as members of the military and government. The six-day event was last held in 2019 and attracted nearly 172,000 attendees from around the world.

Maryland will be exhibiting at the expo with a booth in the U.S. Pavilion (2P15 Hall 2), along with the following companies:

  • Airgility , an early-stage unmanned aerial systems company in Prince George’s County.
  • Astec Metalworks , a Baltimore County manufacturer of complex sheet metal components.
  • Fluoron , a Cecil County provider of custom Fluoropolymer solutions and advanced coatings.
  • Neany , an industry leader based in St. Mary’s County that provides time-sensitive tactical response solutions.
  • Parraid , a telemetry data systems company in St. Mary’s County.
  • TCOM, L.P. , a Howard County airborne surveillance solutions provider.
  • Vanilla Unmanned , a St. Mary’s County aerial surveillance and communications platform owned and operated by Platform Aerospace.

Both Astec Metalworks and TCOM participated in Maryland Commerce’s delegation to Avalon in 2019; the remaining five companies are traveling internationally with the state for the first time. Each of the participants are utilizing the ExportMD program to offset the travel costs related to international marketing.
