The new Denton business recently celebrated its official groundbreaking with owners Matt and Sarah Dahl, who say they are looking to add a missing piece to the region and help enhance their community.

As an Eastern Shore native, Sarah believes the new brewery will help energize the town and provide a family-friendly place for locals and visitors alike. Eden Town will be located on the site of the old Nuttle Lumber warehouse, situated in a walkable part of downtown Denton but located close enough to Maryland Route 404 to attract summer travelers.

“We moved back to the area in 2018 and decided a few years later to open a brewery here,” said Sarah. “We thought it would be a great place for the community to gather, with plenty of outdoor space to host events and food trucks, and room for kids to run around.”

Willow Construction is leading the construction project, where the Dahls plan to brew beer on site and include a taproom, private event space, and catering kitchen. Eden Town’s tentative opening goal is scheduled for 2025.

Riley's Mill Ale Works

Elsewhere on the shore, the facility for Riley’s Mill Ale Works  is underway in Chestertown. As the build out continues, the space for Kent County’s first brewery is projected to open later this year. The company says it is excited about bringing events to the area and giving individuals another place to visit on the shore.

“We are a family-run business that deeply loves craft culture and the communities that formed us,” said David Eason Jr., co-owner and lead brewer of Riley’s Mill Ale Works. “Craft culture is about creativity, tradition, and embracing what makes us a community. We look forward to sharing our passion with the Eastern Shore and welcome the opportunity to support local groups and organizations along the way.”
