Nearly $200,000 is going to a total of 12 Maryland businesses to implement smart manufacturing efforts.
The funding comes from the state’s Manufacturing Assets Deployed for Energy (MADE) grant program, which helps Maryland manufacturers invest in smart manufacturing and high-performance manufacturing technologies. By adopting energy-efficient technologies, local companies will remain competitive and drive growth throughout the state’s manufacturing sector.
Projects approved for funding include a St. Mary’s County electronics manufacturer advancing its services through 3D printing; a Kent County fiber solutions company working to reduce power consumption on its machines; and a Cecil County food ingredient manufacturer incorporating smart equipment controls into its systems.
