For over 90 years, Easton Wholesale supplied goods and services to residents across Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Today, the historic site has been redeveloped into Dover Station, a commercial property that now operates as a marketplace and event venue, featuring local artists, retailers, and community events.

The Easton facility was originally constructed in 1912 and historically served as a commercial town hub for many years. Nestled along Route 50 near the local Rails-to-Trails corridor, the redeveloped location functions as a retail artisan market space for visitors, as well as a popular destination for weddings, classes, and cultural programming. The site has been owned and operated under Keri and Sevan Topjian since its redevelopment.

“The Market at Dover Station” opened in November 2024 and features works by dozens of local artists, artisans, and specialty retailers. Customers can purchase everything from handmade jewelry to antique and vintage goods to chocolates. The market emphasizes the importance of local craftsmanship and curated retail experiences, with a rotating gallery that features new artists every six months. The facility also works hard to incorporate community programming into its rotation, regularly hosting art workshops, cooking classes, yoga and other workout classes, and other seasonal events.

Dover Station also includes a 4,000-square-foot rustic event space, “The Loft at Dover Station,” which features an esthetic of exposed beams and brick architecture that can accommodate up to about 215 guests. The venue is regularly open for scheduled tours, but booking for the space fills quickly and customers are urged to schedule in advance.

“We did a lot to maintain the integrity and preserve the historic character of this site. The Easton Wholesale location has been a flagship landmark of Talbot County for almost a century, so it was important for us to maintain certain features. Our goal is to continue the legacy of this site as a place where the community comes together, while giving it new life as a space that supports local artists, small businesses, and new experiences.”

Sevan Topjian, lead developer of Dover Station LLC

Some of these new experiences will be part of Dover Station’s upcoming expansion plans, including an on-site bistro café expected to open by fall 2026, as well as a new taproom and brewery from Eastern Shore-based Fin City Brewing, slated to open within the next year.

Whether you’re browsing through goods, celebrating a special occasion, or just looking to experience Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Dover Station has something for everyone and is sure to act as a historic community gathering point for many more years to come.
