Seventeen nonprofit organizations have received financial assistance from the Maryland Department of Commerce for short-term operational support.
The funding – which comes from the state’s nonprofit loan account – totals $410,000 over the last fiscal year for organizations from Charles County to Baltimore City to Somerset County. Since inception of the program, 45 loans have been approved and funded for a total of $1,099,760.
The state’s nonprofit program also supports the Maryland Nonprofit Development Center , a program of Maryland Nonprofits that offers free technical assistance for nonprofit organizations of less than $750,000 in revenue and less than 10 years old.
