K. Neal Truck and Bus Center – an award winning commercial bus and truck dealership – is growing its family-run business and taking control of the local market.
According to Trucks, Parts, and Service Magazine , K. Neal is one of only two minority-owned commercial bus and truck dealerships in the nation, and generates more than $100 million in annual revenue.
With three locations in Maryland and one in Virginia, the full-service dealership is currently operated by father-and-son duo Korey Neal, Sr. (president) and Stephen W. Neal (CEO). In 2018, Korey became president of the company with a vision to pioneer green transportation in the region with the latest upcoming influx of electric vehicles in partnership with Navistar.
Under Korey’s leadership, the small business expanded in 2019 with a new $15 million state-of-the-art corporate headquarters, encompassing 40,000 square-foot in Hyattsville. Now, with its continued success in Maryland, K. Neal is planning additional growth in Prince George’s County with the potential for 75 new jobs in the region.
The company is expanding its operations with a new facility where it will begin manufacturing and assembling vehicle components, boosting the company’s name in the industry. The company’s current portfolio already boasts 40 percent of the market share on school buses in Maryland and 100 percent of the market share on school buses in Prince George’s County.
K. Neal is working with the Maryland Department of Commerce to explore potential avenues for financial assistance and has submitted a notice of intent to utilize the state’s More Jobs for Marylanders program and Job Creation Tax Credit .
“As the nation transitions to deploying additional newer, cleaner trucks and buses on the roads, there will be more employment opportunities – and great paying jobs for technicians and electricians – to support this transition,” said Korey Neal. “Transportation is the backbone of the economy, and I look forward to working with business and community leaders so that the state of Maryland can be an example for the rest of the nation on the importance of investment in infrastructure and education.”
As the company continues to scale in size and in the electric vehicle industry, it is hiring technicians as well as numerous positions in sales and administration. The company also currently provides marketing and business development internship opportunities and offers paid apprenticeships and pathways for technician training on multiple manufacturer models.
With decades of business experience under its belt, K. Neal is bound to succeed in the state for years to come. The company honors its long-lasting legacy with its commitment to faith and service and investing in the local community.
