With help from the Economic Development Administration, nine tourism projects are receiving financial assistance to continue economic recovery throughout Maryland.

The projects – which range from purchasing a mobile stage for the Carroll County Farm Museum, to implementing a new water taxi for St. Clement’s Island State Park – are receiving a total of $1.6 million.

“From Allegany to St. Mary’s to Wicomico counties, this assistance will help upgrade several of our tourism venues, provide workforce training, and boost advertising with the goal of continuing to draw visitors to Maryland,” said Governor Wes Moore.

Nearly 30 applications have been received for the assistance program and additional funding announcements are expected in the near future.
