Lifetime Brands is establishing a new location in Maryland that will serve as its primary U.S. East Coast distribution center.
Located in Washington County, the approximately one million square-foot facility will provide the company with logistical advantages to reach customers with ease, while creating an estimated 230 new jobs in the process.
As a global designer, developer, and marketer of consumer products used in the home, some of Lifetime Brands well-known products include Farberware®, KitchenAid®, MasterClass®, Mikasa®, Pfaltzgraff®, and Bombay®. Lifetime Brands also provides exclusive private label products to leading retailers worldwide.
“We are excited to take this first step towards realizing Lifetime’s infrastructure for the future steered by a relocation to our new Hagerstown distribution center in Maryland, and leading to execution of the initial phase of our multi-year growth initiatives,” said Lifetime Brands Chief Executive Officer Rob Kay. “Lifetime’s distribution centers are a core asset of our operations, and this new facility yields an expanded capacity of 327,000 square feet in a centralized location to maximize time and cost efficiencies of logistics and freight.”
The Port of Baltimore expects to handle approximately 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit containers of Lifetime Brands products each year.
“This year, we’re focused on making Maryland the best place in the country to start, run, and build a business. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Lifetime Brands to Washington County, and I want to thank all the partners who helped make this happen,” said Gov. Moore. “The global distribution center will create new jobs, grow our economy, and position Maryland to lead – now and in the future.”
