Governor Wes Moore recently announced over $2 million in grants made through the Maryland Alcohol Manufacturing Promotion Fund and the Winery and Vineyard Economic Development Grant Program, managed by the Maryland Department of Commerce Office of Tourism.

In total, 52 businesses received grants to help expand operations, enhance marketing, and invest in agricultural development for the production of beer, wine, and spirits. The awards were distributed as part of Maryland’s ongoing commitment to growing its craft beverage industry, which plays a key role in tourism, agriculture, and small business development. The Winery and Vineyard Economic Development Grant Program awarded $1 million to 44 recipients, helping to cover capital expenses like new equipment and materials. The Maryland Alcohol Manufacturing Promotion Fund distributed over $1.5 million to eight businesses for projects ranging from marketing and education to event planning and digital media upgrades.

“Maryland’s breweries, wineries and distilleries play a vital role in our state’s economic growth,” said Gov. Moore. “These grants will uplift our local businesses, while also fostering new investment opportunities across Maryland. Together, we are making Maryland more competitive, creating new jobs, and growing our economy one business at a time.”
