Nearly 100 Maryland companies received state funding over the last year to expand internationally.

Approximately $500,000 was financed through the state’s ExportMD grant program, known for helping small businesses promote their products and services in the global marketplace. The grants boost businesses onto the global stage by helping finance the costs of marketing internationally including trade show fees and travel expenses.

One of the companies utilizing the program is BC3 Technologies, a medical device manufacturer that created a hemostatic wound spray. The company worked with the Maryland Department of Commerce to identify foreign markets for its product, which could transform how the health industry handles wound care and life-threatening injuries.

“We’re proud to represent Maryland as an ExportMD awardee,” said BC3 Technologies Chief Executive Officer Wayne Grube, Jr. “The support from the Maryland Department of Commerce is helping BC3 Technologies bring our life-saving product, SEAL Hemostatic Wound Spray, to new global markets. This opportunity strengthens our mission to deliver simple, effective trauma care tools to those who need them most.”
