This weekend, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will host the 2015 Lacrosse Tournament semifinals and finals. And while this year's competition may be held in Philadelphia, Maryland still represents its official team sport in a strong way.

Tomorrow, the Maryland women's lacrosse team takes on Syracuse for a spot in the finals. On Saturday, men's lacrosse becomes heated – a battle between Maryland and Johns Hopkins for a chance to play in the NCAA championship game. No matter the outcome, at least one local team will represent the Free State in the last lacrosse challenge.

STX – a global sports equipment manufacturer in Baltimore – also has a large presence at this year's event. STX is the official equipment supplier of the NCAA lacrosse championships, and, is the proud sponsor of three of the four women's teams competing for this year's title. The company also sponsors Johns Hopkins University's men's lacrosse.

This is the third year STX has partnered with the NCAA to equip the lacrosse championships. Ed Saunders, Director of Marketing, said, "STX is thrilled to align with the NCAA in pursuing ongoing growth and success for what everyone knows is the crown jewel of lacrosse events."

Founded in 1970, the company also manufactures equipment for field and ice hockey. STX celebrates its 45th anniversary in business this year.
