More than $21 million has been endowed to eight colleges and universities to fund new research professorships across the state.
The endowments, made through the Maryland E-Nnovation Initiative, will help increase innovation and spur research in scientific and technical fields across higher education institutions. Specific fields of study in this round of funding include biological sciences and chemistry; immuno-oncology; environmental archaeology; and more.
The schools receiving the matching funds are Goucher College; Hood College; Johns Hopkins University; Morgan State University; the University of Maryland, Baltimore; the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; the University of Maryland, College Park; and Washington College.
