Individuals traveling through the Salisbury Regional Airport can now take advantage of new roundtrip service to The Sunshine State.

Breeze Airways recently held its inaugural flight to the Eastern Shore – a welcome reception was held in Salisbury with federal, state, and local officials greeting the first arriving flight from Orlando.

Breeze’s latest route will start with nonstop service on an Airbus A220 aircraft two days a week, Monday and Friday, starting at $59 one-way. Airport Director Tony Rudy says the new partnership at Salisbury Regional will bring a positive economic impact to Wicomico County, as the airport hopes to attract locals seeking lower fares as well as inbound travelers from Florida.

“The airport will immediately benefit from a Passenger Facility Charge of $4.50 per customer that can be used for airport infrastructure projects, as well as additional parking revenues,” said Rudy, who added the aircraft will seat approximately 137 passengers. “Our hope is that Breeze adds additional frequencies or markets as they have at other airports.”

So far this year, the Salisbury Regional Airport has seen nearly 39,000 passengers—an increase of nearly 17 percent since 2024. The addition of the Breeze service has the potential to add up to 14,000 passengers annually with the airline’s current flight schedule.

“This new service, offering a direct flight to Orlando International Airport, brings exciting travel opportunities to our residents and opens new doors for tourism and economic growth in our region,” said Wicomico County Executive Julie M. Giordano. “Breeze’s commitment to affordability and convenience aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of air travel in Wicomico County.”

It isn’t surprising that flights from Maryland to Orlando are expanding across the state. Over the summer, the Baltimore Business Journal reported that Southwest’s service from BWI Airport to Orlando was the airline’s top revenue generator, bringing in $90 million.
