While you are waiting for the final days of winter to wrap up, start planning your summer vacation to Maryland's favorite beach town.

TripAdvisor has named Ocean City, Maryland, one of the top ten beaches in the nation. The oceanside resort took a big leap this year, moving up from #25 to #10 in the rankings.

The local vacation spot was named one of the country's best beaches for its family-friendly location and activities, including amusement parks, delicious dining, and clean, sandy beach. Ocean City's free activities and excellent lifeguard staff also received high praise from reviewers.

Not only did Ocean City climb 15 spots since last year, it is one of only three states to squeeze its way into the top 10. The U.S. list also included two Hawaiian beaches and seven in Florida, with Siesta Key taking the #1 spot. Read the complete top 10 list on Today.
