Leading space technology company X-Bow Systems has opened a new office in Indian Head, Md.
Known for being a producer of advanced solid rocket motors and defense technologies, X-Bow provides an end-to-end experience with building, testing, and launching innovative products.
The company began its Maryland footprint with a space at the Maryland Technology Center in 2024 before growing its presence in Charles County earlier this year. X-Bow expects its expanded facility to create new jobs and have a positive economic impact throughout the region.
“X-Bow is honored to play a pivotal role in innovating [Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division] and solidifying its position as the Navy’s center of excellence for ordnance, energetics, and EOD solutions,” said X-Bow CEO Jason Hundley.
This expansion comes in conjunction with the U.S. Navy selecting X-Bow for a $60 million project to help modernize and automate solid rocket motor production processes at Indian Head. The company was also recently awarded a $7 million contract to implement cutting-edge technology at the naval base as part of the Department of Defense’s overall goal of streamlining operations.
“This new office will enable us to better serve our customer’s needs and accelerate the modernization of the U.S. Navy’s energetics industrial base, through both our P3 partnership and our efforts to modernize and refit the base for the future,” said Hundley.
X-Bow’s efforts will support the NSWC Indian Head base as it revitalizes its organic energetic manufacturing capabilities to meet national demand for munitions and ordnance under the U.S. Navy’s Energetic Comprehensive Modernization Program.
